1. Who We Are

Career Keel ("we," "us," or "our") is a career assessment service and product of Bizorca LLC, a Washington state limited liability company. Our website is located at careerkeel.com. You can reach us at [email protected].

This policy explains what information we collect when you use Career Keel, how we use it, and what choices you have.

2. Information We Collect

2a. Information you provide directly

• Account registration: your email address and a password (stored as a one-way hash — we never store your plaintext password).
• Quiz responses: your answers to the 72 interest questions and 8 work-values ranking triads.
• Context questions: your current career stage, highest education level, what you hope to get from the quiz, and optionally your college major field.
• Optional assessments: if you complete any of the optional personality assessments (DISC, Jungian Type, Growth Compass/OCEAN, Enneagram, or Skills Profile), those responses and scores are stored.
• Resume or background text: Pathfinder users may optionally paste resume or career background text (up to 3,000 characters) to enhance their AI-generated career analysis.

2b. Information generated by the service

• Your interest dimension scores, value scores, archetypes, career match rankings, and profile shape.
• AI-generated content tied to your results: career analysis, LinkedIn bio, 90-day action plan, cover letter angles, pivot narrative, interview questions, job search queries, and fear-vs-fit reframes. This content is generated on your first request and cached in our database.
• Your action log progress (which of the 12 milestone items you have checked off).
• Your selected focus careers (up to 5 O*NET occupations you choose for the Pathfinder report).
• Your quiz retake history if you retake the assessment.

2c. Payment information

Payments are processed entirely by Stripe. We never see, receive, or store your credit card number or other sensitive payment details. We store only a Stripe customer ID and the status of your subscription or one-time purchase so we can unlock the correct features for your account.

2d. Technical information

Our web server records standard access logs (IP address, browser type, pages visited, timestamps). These logs exist solely for security and uptime monitoring and are not used for marketing or profiling.

We do not use Google Analytics, Meta Pixel, or any third-party marketing or behavioral analytics trackers.

3. How We Use Your Information

• To provide the service: calculating your scores, generating your career matches, and displaying your results.
• To generate AI-powered content: when you access a Premium or Pathfinder feature that uses AI (career analysis, LinkedIn bio, action plan, etc.), your assessment scores, archetypes, top career matches, and quiz context are transmitted to the Anthropic API to generate that content. See Section 4 for details on Anthropic.
• To manage your account: authentication, email verification, password resets, and subscription status.
• To send transactional email: account verification links, password reset links. We do not send marketing emails.
• For security and fraud prevention: server access logs and rate limiting.

4. Anthropic API (AI Features)

Career Keel uses the Claude API, operated by Anthropic, PBC, to generate personalized career content. When you trigger an AI-powered feature, the following data is sent to Anthropic's servers:

• Your six interest dimension scores (numerical values 0–100)
• Your eight work-value scores
• Your archetype names and profile shape
• Your top career matches (titles and match percentages)
• Your career stage, education level, and quiz intent as provided in Phase 1
• Your personality assessment results, if completed: DISC type, Jungian type, Growth Compass (OCEAN) scores, Enneagram type, and Skills Profile ratings
• Your resume or background text, if provided

We do not send your email address, name, or any directly identifying information to Anthropic. The data sent is limited to what is necessary to generate relevant content.

Anthropic processes this data under their own Privacy Policy and Usage Policy. By using AI-powered features on Career Keel, you acknowledge that your assessment data will be processed by Anthropic as described above.

Once generated, AI content is cached in our database so subsequent requests do not re-transmit your data to Anthropic.

5. Third-Party Services

We share data with the following third parties only as described:

Coach access

If you connect with a career coach through Career Keel (by using a coach's referral code or linking your account), that coach can view your assessment scores, career matches, work values, personality assessment results, and AI-generated career analysis. You must consent to this access before it is granted, and you may disconnect from a coach at any time from your settings, which immediately revokes their access.

We do not sell, rent, trade, or share your information with any other third parties for marketing, advertising, or any other commercial purpose. Period.

6. Cookies and Tracking

We use a single session cookie to keep you logged in. No third-party cookies. No tracking pixels. No fingerprinting. No behavioral advertising.

If you disable cookies in your browser, you will not be able to stay logged in.

7. Data Retention

• Your account and all associated quiz results are retained for as long as your account is active.
• If you delete your account, we will delete your email address, quiz responses, scores, and AI-generated content within 30 days. Server access logs may be retained for up to 90 days for security purposes.
• Stripe retains billing records per their own data retention obligations.

8. Your Rights and Choices

• Access: you can view all of your quiz results and scores at any time from your dashboard.
• Correction: you can retake the quiz at any time. To correct your email address, use the Settings page or email us.
• Deletion: email us at [email protected] to request deletion of your account and all associated data.
• Data portability: you can request a copy of your quiz scores and results data by emailing us.
• Opt out of AI features: AI-powered features are optional and gated behind Premium/Pathfinder. If you do not use those features, your data is never sent to Anthropic.

If you are located in the European Economic Area (EEA), you have additional rights under the GDPR including the right to object to processing, the right to restrict processing, and the right to lodge a complaint with your supervisory authority. Our legal basis for processing your data is contract performance (to provide the service you signed up for) and legitimate interests (security and fraud prevention).

9. Children

Career Keel is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us their information, please contact us and we will delete it promptly.

10. Security

We use HTTPS for all data transmission, bcrypt hashing for passwords, and prepared statements for all database queries. Access to the production database is restricted to the server itself. No system is perfectly secure, but we take reasonable steps to protect your information.

11. Changes to This Policy

If we make material changes to this policy, we will update the effective date at the top. Continued use of Career Keel after changes become effective constitutes your acceptance of the revised policy.
